Good Points
Copied with great clarity when it did work.

Bad Points
Uses 3 color cartridges that are unnecessary in a fax machine. Additionally, the machine utilizes an automatic self-cleaning feature which uses up the color ink quickly and is continually in need of color replacement cartridges which are not cheap. Also, it displays error messages like "error 41" and "unplug & contact Brother." After contacting Brother you find out that you made a mistake in by purchasing their product. The color cartridges HAVE to be installed in the machine otherwise it will not work with just a black cartridge.

General Comments
I would STRONGLY urge all future consumers NOT to purchase a Brother Fax 1820C. It's nothing but trouble.
