“Thus far, since buying it for a few days and testing...”

Good Points
Fast connection to satellites, suction is really good, clear screen, great touch screen, even works in HEAVY HEAVY pouring rain! Clear directions

Bad Points
This is a moot point as I knew going in buying my TomTom 510 that the voice directions would not say out the street names, but it would be a nice thing to have, but not worth the $100+ that the 9xx is asking for and yes, I know the 9xx version has a 20Gb drive, but that's of no worth to me)... Maps.. they're darn expensive if you need to buy updates! For now, it's free update up until March 2007 so I guess that's ok... I know that my model has the TomTom buddies where, similar to MSN messenger, you can allow your friends (and here I'm assuming ones who also own TomTom 510 or higher) to see where you are and vice versa.. it would be nice if they take this up one level and allow friends or whomever to track you on the web. This would be a good thing to provide its customers. If TomTom offers this for free, they'd ultimately get a lot of its customers for sure! Especially parents with teenage drivers!

General Comments
Thus far, since buying it for a few days and testing it out in pouring heavy rain today, it's a pretty nice little device. I don't feel lost now and will dare to explore more of TN as I'm new to this area.

We'll see the longevity of this product. Lots of people are complaining about their device not able to boot up again, but you can supposedly revive it by pressing on the reset button (I read somewhere) so people have been bringing their device back for nothing. Anyway, this is just a little software bug, not a hardware failure. This hasn't happened to me yet, so fingers crossed.
