“The meals we had at Penrhiwllan Inn- The Restaurant...”

written by The taster on 12/10/2004

Good Points
Varied menu, changes daily. Meals cooked using all fresh ingredients. Wine list varied, interseting and very reasonably priced. Superb Sunday lunch

Bad Points
Not open Sunday night or Monday night.

General Comments
The meals we had at Penrhiwllan Inn- The Restaurant included sauteed king prawns in lemon and coriander and smoked duck and orange salad. Both wonderful flavours. The main course was the finest filet steak I have ever had with my wife enjoying filet of sea bass. Superb. Later in the same week we tried venison blanquette and wild salmon in a 'Teifi' sauce, quite breathtaking. The desserts varied from home made apple and blackberry crumble to the most exquisite dark chocolate mousse. I recommend the beef fillet!
