Good Points
Solid construction that can take a lot of abuse. It is the only SUV that does the job for me which is transport large numbers of people, sometimes with the roof rack loaded with kite surfing equipment, to remote beaches in the north of Brazil. Also, the TDI motor is quite efficiant for a car of this size.

Bad Points
The 2.5L TDI could be a bit more powerful and the car does lack items that are standard in most cars half the price such as intermitant wipers, cruise control and airbags. The AC could be stronger, the passengers in the rear have trouble feeling it and get hot while the passengers in the front feel cold.

General Comments
The Land Rover Defender 110 has proven to be the only vehicle that can do the job I need done. I use it to transport as many as 12 people to remote beaches in the north of Brazil, sometimes with the roof loaded with 100 KG of gear. The aluminum body is good for the harsh beach environment. I often find myself forging through salt water.
