really wish I could give this company no stars, they are that bad. I purchased 2 till systems last February(2016) with a special promotion package which stated; No Annual Licence Fee and No Monthly costs. My tills gave me a pop up message to say my licence was due and that it would expire on the 4th December 2016. This action would have rendered them useless. I contacted Epos Direct who told me that there was a mandatory support fee of £60 per month (both tills) and unless I paid them £720 they would not give me my new licence key. I went for a demonstration of the product in Manchester and met with the salesman who endorsed the promotion and told me we there was no monthly payments and no support fee. I have been backwards and forwards trying to get this sorted as the clock is ticking and I wont have any tills for my restaurant very soon. The customer service is worse than useless, they are very rude and totally intransigent. I have sent them a recorded letter outlining these problems, as advised by Trading Standards, and as of yet they have not responded. My situation at the moment is I have contacted another software company who are willing to remove their (EposDirect) software and install a brand new system, with no licence fee, no monthly costs and an optional support fee of £40 per month.
This will leave me out of pocket but I hope to recoup this money from EposDirect by way of small claims court.
This has been a very stressful event for us and in ten years of business I have never encountered such an unworthy and untrustworthy company in my life!
