General Comments
I would recommend 'Shakespeare My Butt' to anyone who enjoys reading light hearted romps. This is a tale of one man's journey to no place in particular (no pun intended). The author has succeeded in creating a number of humorous narratives, on topics as diverse as the extinction of the thylacine (and no, I didn't know what a thylacine was until I read this book either) and the main differences between a Catholic and Protestant upbringing. The writing style is a refreshing change from the stuff around at the moment, and reminds me a lot of Jeanette Winterson's work and, surprisingly, Ellen Degeneres the stand up comedienne. So in short, go buy the book if you want to have a good old chuckle.
