Good Points
Seriously stylish with quality looks.
Quality sound.
Stylish speakers, and a thumpingly powerful sub-woofer.

Bad Points
Not the greatest picture quality on DVD, although that's being really picky.
Not too good in stereo mode for music, as the speakers do not have the quality to control the treble.

General Comments
I bought the Sony DAV-SC8 DVD home cinema system in a sale for £400 from a major high street retailer. I have had no problems since purchase nearly 2 years ago. I like my movies loud, and the volume goes up to 40, but anything near 20 is more than adequate. Tremendous bass response. Just steer clear of the Bass 2 setting unless you live in a detached house!! Although I complained about the speakers in stereo mode for music, simply switch on the Pro Logic II Music setting and it evens things out quite well. This product alone has changed the way I think about Sony products in general. If you can find one now, I'd recommend grabbing it, if it's a decent price.
