“Renault Laguna Privilege Estate - Top of the range...”

written by jacb on 20/01/2005

Good Points
Styling; Road holding; Visability; Comfort; Long service intervals - 18000 miles; Luggage space; Electric folding mirrors; Reversing sensors; Climate control.

Bad Points
Reliability. The card rather than a key is annoying because you can't attach it to a key ring. Wiper rain sensors are unpredictable and after stopping & restarting the engine they have to be switched off and back on to operate again.

General Comments
Renault Laguna Privilege Estate - Top of the range diesel. Bought new in 2002 and has been nothing but trouble ever since. This is my first and last French car. i.e., Sunroof wouldn't open - reprogrammed twice; Replace bent anti-roll bar; Replace ABS computer-(recall); Replace headlamp washer jet & pipe; Replace tail-gate opener switch; Repair faulty alarm; Replace fuel filler neck; Replace 2 engine heater plugs; Replace turbo intercooler; Reprogram fuel injection computer & re-gas air con system (pipe damaged when the turbo intercooler blew apart).
