“The real star of the holiday is Kefalonia Island. It...”

Good Points
Right next to the sea with magnificent views. The staff in the taverna were very helpful although the owner could be a little 'shy'. It is a short walk to the small resort centre. Very quiet and peaceful at night and, whilst we were there, there was no guest entertainment - which suited us but might not others. Rooms and grounds/pool very clean.

Bad Points
This was our second time to the Paspalis and as the pool and taverna is open to non-residents we found it much busier (and noisier) than previously. The owners wife is a strange person who makes no attempt to engage with guests whatsoever. But perhaps her English is as non-existent as my Greek!

General Comments
The real star of the holiday is Kefalonia Island. It is beautiful and we found the people generally very friendly. The bus trip (includes a ferry trip) to Ithika Island is a must - we had a wonderful day there despite the weather being poor. The resort of Skala is growing slightly and the introduction of the magnificent new restaurant (The Symposium) adds significant class. It is NOT cheap but the food and service is in a different class to anywhere else we tried and I would strongly recommend that you book beforehand as it gets full every night.
