“£2300 back pay! Ridiculous”

After reading only a handful of these reviews, I can see that this company is absolutely diabolical.

I took over a commercial property and the landlord closed his accounts. Opus then contacted me repeatedly to open an account with them (it's at this point I should have stopped communication and opened with a bloody company Id heard of).

Anyway, besides them essentially forcing me to open an account with them over the phone, I was being billed at what seemed like a reasonable rate for the first 5 months of the account. Month 6 comes around and boom! I've been billed at 1/3rd of what the usage was and now they try and take it straight from the account by DD in one go. £2300 like its nothing.

My financial advisor instructed me to open a DD for a low/monthly payment (about £50) until the matter could be settled and a reasonable payment plan arranged. This resulted in them agreeing to have it paid off over 10 months at £250/month.

So my monthly bills have essentially quadrupled causing severe cash-flow problems.

I've been unable to make this months payment, and now I've received so many calls I don't answer and the voicemails have started to include the word 'urgent' and 'the last time'.

My advise, avoid - and if in a dispute - to stop bailiff action, open a small monthly DD to show good faith to clearing the 'debt'.
