“Greedy company - check your small print.”

I hired 5 suits for a Friday evening wedding - approximately £400 worth. Apparently they have to be returned within 48 hours otherwise you end up with a fine of £10 per suit. When I hired the suits I asked the man if I could return them first thing monday morning. He was all nicey nicey (to secure the sale) and everything was "sure....no problem". I was not told for a second that the shop was open all day Sunday. Monday morning comes (two working days after the wedding) and I return all 5 suits in perfect condition to be told by the female behind the desk I had a £50 fine. £50!!!! I spoke to the manager and after some negotiating I had the fine reduced to £30. Even so, I thought it was disgusting: 1 - I had it agreed I could bring them back monday 2 - Not everyone is going to know Moss Bros opens on Sundays and within 2 days usually means working days, 3 - the company blatently use the fine and rediculously short return time as a way of generating more profits - just like councils and parking fines. I will never hire from them again.
