We visited at the weekend to look at a used car. We tried to get details about the car before traveling the hour+ journey and it was like pulling teeth to get any information. When we arrived the salesman started talking to my fella and completely ignoring me. He only started talking to me when he was informed that the car would be for me. Then, he asked me what I would be using the car for! He hadn't asked my other half what he would use his car for. Not impressed. As all this was going on he was looking at his mobile all the time. In the back of the car on the test drive he was on his phone pretty much the whole time. He wouldn't not budge on the price of the car - apparently Evans Halshaw is the only car dealer in the country that doesn't haggle. The car was in a state inside - outside not too bad, although the door had been resprayed. The boot was also in a state. But still, he would not budge on price. He said he'd get the boot put right but nothing else, then said his manager had said they wouldn't do the boot. He then left us at the desk for nearly 15 minutes, having only gone to get the 3 month warranty details. We walked out in disgust and he then rang saying he'd been trying to get the (invisible) manager to reduce the price. Having been told many times while we there that the manager won't reduce anything, we're more inclined to think he was having to explain to his manager why we wouldn't pay £500 for a warranty to cover us "in case the engine blew up" - his exact words! We've now received two silent calls since our visit. Wouldn't trust this bunch of muppets as far a I could throw them, let alone buy a car from them - ever.
