“Poor build quality and terrible customer care”

I would agree with most of the negative reviews. I have suffered a series of leaks, floods and heating issues. The build quality is poor (particularly plumbing), attention to detail is poor, customer care is appalling, they don't listen and the feeling is that Shanly just doesn't really care about build quality and customer care and are reluctant to repair defects and help customers. Shanly are always slow to respond and you have to chase them all the time to get things done. Some of the customer care assistants are quite pleasant and try to be helpful but they seem to be de-motivated lacking support from senior management and there seems to be quite high staff turnover. The only way to get things done is to report them to the NHBC. They gave me all the sales talk when I was buying and all their marketing stuff looked good but I would seriously suggest to anyone thinking of buying a Shanly Home to think very carefully and doing adequate research before doing so, make sure you get a five year no quibble free customer care guarantee (2 years is not enough) and then be prepared for defects, poor customer care, and chasing them endlessly to get things done.
