My initial experience with Amigo was fine very efficient ! The problem started when I lost my job 2 yrs into a 3 yr loan .
My mother acted as my guarantor as my credit score had been effected by my ex partner had taken out loans in my name .
I contacted Amigo the day after I lost my job to try and set up a payment plan as I don't want them chasing my mother for payment ! They refused point blank to do this and told my the joys of there loan was if I couldn't pay my mother could !
My Incme dropped from over 40 k go £70 a week !
I made payment as I could and AMIGO pushed for a ccj immeaditly there was never a month that I didn't pay them any money at all just what I was able to ! Literally living on beans on toast 2 be able to pay them something . We appealed the ccj and went down the road of dealing with a mediator to reach a agreement ! Again Amigo refused to back down and my mother and I ended up with a CCj which has impacted my ability to get a job as I had been working in financial services ! Due to my income the judge agreed to payment of £15 a month . Not happy with this after 6 months Amigo put a charge on my mothers house ! One thing I forgot to mention was the bullying tactics they used in her ! After my default they rarely contacted me but rang her upto 40 X a day ! She is a pensioner ! THEY ARE BULLIES AVOID AT ALL COSTS
