“I wouldn't ever buy one a Toshiba Satellite Pro A40...”

Written on: 09/10/2006 by daveyjones (1 review written)

Good Points
It didn't cost a lot of money.
It is made of tough plastic, so it doesn't mind being knocked about a bit.

Bad Points
Needed a memory upgrade immediately, as it was too slow to cope with anything.
The DVD drives are a bit dodgy. We bought several of these for the company and got CRC errors on all laptops when trying to copy data off a DVD.
The screen is poor! Although I think this is mainly down to the cheap graphics card.
It's BIG! It kind of reminds me of one of those old Atari games consoles.
The power pack has died recently.

General Comments
I wouldn't ever buy one a Toshiba Satellite Pro A40 laptop myself, and we soon had to buy replacements for our company as they were not up to standard. If you want a laptop just for the kids homework or for surfing the net then it's fine. If you want a laptop for anything more then you should pay more money.
