I hadn't planned to write this review - I just wanted to find some reviews of Medequip's service to find out whether others have had similar problems. From reading the reviews it seems Medequip are even worse than my own experience indicates.
I have had various items delivered and collected by Medequip over the past two years. I didn't choose them - they are contracted to Social Services in my local authority.
My complaint against Medequip is that they don't respect the fact that many carers have to work and can't wait at home all day waiting for them to turn up. They will only ever give a particular day to deliver or collect, whereas most deliverers (even charities!) can indicate at least a four-hour window. That in itself would warrant a two-star rating, but what makes Medequip really bad is that even then they don't keep to an agreement. Two recent incidents:
1. I had asked for them to give me a call when they were on their way if they wanted to deliver before noon - I could get home within 15 mins. They didn't call. I got home about 12:05 to find the equipment on the doorstep with no instructions.
2. I waited in all day at the appointed date, taking time away from my work. I called their office late afternoon to find out what was happening. It took 20 minutes to get through and I then had to wait for the van driver to call back. He told me that they couldn't do the job that day and asked whether it would be alright to postpone to the following week! Appalling disregard for my time - do they want me to take yet another day off work?
