Based on research into the courses I was looking to do I really wanted to use TradeSkills4U but being based in Manchester they were just too far away for me to make it work. The opening of the new Warrington training centre was perfect timing and being brand new is an excellent facility. The tutors are very knowledgeable with regards to the theory but also all have actual practical experience in the field, I think this is the key thing. As with most things like this the theory is fine but you need the knowledge and experience actually putting things into practice and they pass on their experiences and examples for each subject. No-one I've been taught by 'clock watches' and the tutors are happy to stay on to answer questions or add extra bits into the sessions if we all thought it would be useful.
They're not the cheapest out there but you get what you pay for, my time is also valuable and I need to make every day I'm not working count. These are intensive courses designed for people who want to learn and get the qualifications. Buy the books (and READ THEM), put in the work in the evenings and you'll do well. If you think you can just turn up and 'be taught' then it's probably not for you, and for that matter neither is being an electrician.
