“Cancellation insurance is pointless”

Booked a trip to NY for my wifes 30th well in advance with cancellation insurance in case she became pregnant.

The opposite has happened and we are now separating. I asked to change the passenger and said I would pay for a name change and they said name changes aren't allowed.

I then suggested that they cancel her place and then I'll just do it as a new booking for the flight with a new name and they said I had to cancel the whole package and then rebook. In the process, I'd lose £500 and then have to book the whole thing again

Separation does not count as a valid reasons to change on the cancellation policy.

Will not be using them ever again, even if they have the best deals.
