“If I could rate it LESS than one star I would! ”

If I could rate it LESS than one star I would!

One might not think website customer service is all that important on an ecard site, but on AmericanGreetings.com it's necessity.

That's because it's required to sign up for a 'free' trial in order to send any of the halfway decent cards, but--oops--the trial's only 14 days and--oops--now it's charged to your credit card and it NON-REFUNDABLE!

Isn't that lovely....

And, if even one chooses (willingly) to have/keep their membership, just because AG has advanced features, such as adding pictures to one's cards doesn't mean those features actually work. (Kept telling me it couldn't find the picture, whatever that means.)

Nor does it mean instructions or help are available, either.

The FAQ section is so rudimentary it leaves one more frustrated, and it's "customer service" should be called "customer NON-service" as it is non-existent.

There's no chat available, no IM, and don't bother with the 'Contact Us' phone number (which is only available until 5 p.m. weekdays) because it's a frustrating automated system that one MUST speak to (you can't just use number keys) and it won't connect you to a person regardless of where you go throughout the menu.

The only apparent contact with American Greetings personnel is by email, and they only CHECK that email during business hours (weekdays 'til 5 p.m.) and one is guaranteed an answer withing 48 *HOURS* (baring weekends)! How thoughtful.

This site is problematic, glitchy (initial trial sign-up offered a reduced price but the final price wasn't reduced; and it sent multiple 'Welcome' letters leaving me confused with how many times I'd actually signed up), and the cards aren't even very imaginative after all the hassle.

In short, AmericanGreetings.com is simply a waste of time.
