“I paid £85.00 from Tescos for the Dansai 1010 DVD...”

Written on: 22/03/2002 by Gary. (1 review written)

Good Points
Dansai DVD 1010.
I have tried out the new 1010 model, and it plays DVD, VCD and Audio very well. Also plays AI (Artificial Intelligence) with no problems, which my Wharfdale DVD-750 (also from Tescos) can't play !. Has a hidden multi-region menu. Yet to try MP3 and CDRW.

Bad Points
Hidden menu doesn't allow MacroVision to be turned off. If anyone finds out how to do this, please let me know! DVD sound playback volume through TV is a bit low; havent tried the Audio (Pro Logic) or 5.2 or DTS output though.

General Comments
I paid £85.00 from Tescos for the Dansai 1010 DVD player.

The specification is remarkable - what an unbelievable bargain *****

To make it multi-region:

1. Press set-up on the remote

2. On the front panel press -

and the factory setup menu appears

Select Region ID and you get the choice of regions 1 to 8.
