My 80 year old Mum is trying to get funds released to pay for her partner's funeral months ago. She is at her wits end with ReAssure, who are prevaricating and coming up with every excuse under the sun not to give her the money she is entitled to. Not only that, they have told her she will only get two thirds of the the money paid into the scheme but haven't explained why. She has done everything right and every other post-bereavement financial matter has been dealt with properly and fairly by the various companies she's dealt with. I have advised her to ask the Financial Ombudsman to get in touch directly with ReAssure, before the stress makes her ill. Dreadful, shameful way to treat honest people.
