“DO NOT STAY HERE!”

written by governor24 on 28/09/2015

6 years on from the other reviews on this page and I believe the reviews are still as accurate.

If you want halls that are in a good location for NTU then trinity is certainly the place however that is about all it is good for.

The lifts are constantly breaking which is a major issue when people have large items to haul up 6 flights of stairs (and thats just to get to reception) and clearly is a major concern for disabled students who may have difficulty making the trip.

There is very little atmosphere in Trinity if you're too loud in the court yard, you're silenced by elder students or security and even during freshers week the security were very stern faced about too much noise being made.

Bathrooms are for the most part absolutely tiny, so small in fact that you often have to keep the toilet lid closed in order to not knock any items from the sink into the dish.

The internet is a constant issue. There's often 'maintenance' on the internet however I fail to see what is being corrected by the engineers as more often that not connection is down or so slow that it is unusable.

My biggest concern at Trinity however is the staff at reception. I have found them to be very rude, arrogant and self-centred. I have seen them talking down to international students rather than assisting them through the language barrier difficulties they face. Additionally, the staff can be VERY(!!!) glad happy to take away from your deposit without a reasonable explanation. Without mentioning any names Bro**a will slap you with a £50 charge regardless of whether or not there is an evidence of a tenancy breach. An example being where she claimed to have smelt smoke in our flat leading to a £50 charge for all tenants (£250 deducted in total) for something which was subjective!

I would NOT recommend TRINITY SQUARE if you wish to have a true STUDENT LIFE. Gill Street has a much better party atmosphere, Victoria Halls is worth the walk, or Goldsmith Court if you'd like a reasonable room, quiet atmosphere and wish to be close to University.
