“I had a Honda Accord from new in the 1980s & it was...”

Good Points
Easy to drive, mechanically sound.

Bad Points
Not enough leg-room for some front-seat passengers, lack of gutters mean water drips in sometimes when you open the doors in rain. Power steering tends to wear front n/s tyre more quickly than the others.

General Comments
I had a Honda Accord from new in the 1980s & it was great. I've had a diesel CR-V for 2 yrs and its good, but not awe-inspiring. Not being a boy racer, I'm more interested in reliability and utility, & this CR-V is certainly reliable! Plenty of room in the boot & for back-seat passengers. Driving position is comfortable, cruise useful on long trips if the road is fairly clear. Fuel consumption average - I get about 37/38 mpg. Rear door with spare attached is quite heavy - especially for smaller folk. I'd have liked rather better storage pockets, etc in the front as the glove-box is small & there's nowhere much to put CDs apart from the box under the pax seat - which is virtually unreachable to the driver if you're on the road. Niggles are small, when offset against Honda build quality, so overall I'm pleased with my CR-V.
