Easy to book but doing it through a third party means you don't have access to the actual hire firm, in this case Hertz.
I was aware of the increased need in France to have safety wear in the car and was ready to buy it in the UK if necessary. I contacted Auto Europe to ask if it was already provided by Hertz and was told it was. When we collected the car, the safety wear was insufficient. So the info I was given was erroneous.
It is also galling that although on booking it looks as if I have enough insurance, once there I am told there is €1500 excess so I reluctantly pay an extra €250 to reduce this to zero. Why cannot the initial quote include this?
On the plus side, the car was as promised and it excellent new condition, but that was down to Hertz of course.
In future I think I will book direct with the car hire firm even if it costs a bit more.
