I don't know where to begin to explain how bad this company are and I urge anyone to just forget about booking with Xtreme Gap. Iam a frequent traveller and have never left a bad review until this one.
My nightmare began before I even set off for my trip. On my pre departure pack I was advised that I would pick up my Cuba visa at check in. First of many false statements from them that resulted in me missing my flight and having to instead get a flight from Edinburgh to the embassy in London to get my visa before booking a new flight to Cuba, at £135 and £780. When I asked them for some kind of refund for there error they apoligised for the mistake but said they couldn't help me.
When I arrived in havana I was told by them there would be a taxi waiting for me from my new flight so not to get my own way to the accomadation. My trust was already lost with them so when I had to wait for 2 hours for someone to collect me I new this trip was going to be hell. When the taxi dropped me off it wasn't at the house I was told I was going to be staying at, instead it was with a family who didn't speak 1 single word of English, lucky I was booked onto the Spanish lessons the next morning before my boxing course started.... Or so I thought. Instead they both started at 9am and yes, I had paid for them both. So I decided to go with the boxing. They said it was a 5 minute walk to the boxing gym, instead it was a 10 minute taxi. One thing I requested when I booked was to go on a date when other people had booked so I wasn't on my own, surprise surprise I was on my own every single day. The only positive thing I can say about this trip was the coaching was good for 7 lessons, but certainly not worth £970!!! This trip was HELL. They told me so much lies and false information it's hard to believe. They admitted they made mistakes that cost me over £1000 but weren't prepared to refund me a single penny.
