“It soon became apparent that the star rating is...”

Good Points
Gardens were excellent, as was the beach. Entertainers worked hard.

Bad Points
Needs a renovation - rooms were very basic and hygeine was poor.

General Comments
It soon became apparent that the star rating is generous and 'relative'. Les Orangers Beach Resort was possibly once a great hotel, but feels run down and in need of urgent investment. The rooms were showing signs of wear and many of the resorts facilities seemed unkempt. Hygiene standards generally were very poor - the mattresses were filthy and the bathroom lacked disinfectant! The food was generous and there were attempts to cater for all tastes, but most of the guests we spoke to suffered from chronic 'tummy bugs' for most of the stay. Most of the staff were helpful, but the reception consistently failed to address problems that we highlighted (a fridge which didn't work, requests for extra pillows).

Overall - recommend staying in a "5 star" wherever possible.
