“Perfect Holiday with Rocky Mountaineer”

Having seen and heard about the Rocky Mountaineer this was on my bucket list. My sister wanted to do a cruise so we combined the two. Looked at lots of companies and finally as we could not find a trip that suited us we emailed Rocky and they were able to provide us with a customised trip. Right from the word go they were professional, obliging and we had no problems. We received documents promptly and they were complete. They kept in touch all along the booking process.

Well I must say I am SO impressed we had no problems with the holiday at all, everything ran smoothly and I am still amazed that such a trip with all its planning and organisation ran so smoothly.

Right from boarding our flight from Vancouver to Calvary everything fell into place. We planned to travel on the Rocky Mountaineer from Jasper to Vancouver silver class and this was perfect for us. Prior to that we had seightseeing tours of Banff with the helicopter tour (which was great). We saw the fantastic rockies and continued to Lake Louise,and then sightseeing on to Jasper.

We boarded the train in Jasper and the organisation and friendliness was a delight. The food and service was remarkable. The staff knowledgeable and we had a hilarious time with them telling jokes and the standing joke of " we saw a bear yesterday or the day before". We eventually did see a bear in Alaska. However in Canada we did see signs of bear activity and lots of other wild life including the geese, some sort of squirrel, lots of deer and even a mouse.

The snow capped mountains, the forest, rivers and streams was magnificent. We even had snow in Banff at the top of the gondola (we have not seen snow in 50 years as we don't get snow in South Australia) - it was wonderful.

The accommodations provided by Fairmont were particularly good and the Alaskan Cruise by Holland was really fantastic. The coach drivers provided by Brewsters were very knowledgeable and did a great job.

The only adverse elements which were not related to Rocky's arrangements were the embarkation process with Holland and a couple of the Fairmonts had small issues.

All in all it was a wonderful holiday from start to finish and I would highly recommend Rocky Mountaineer and Rocky Peak Holidays for future trips. The staff all along the way were very helpful and not once did we encounter anyone who was not helpful or courteous. We were very pleased with the costs associated with this holiday and found it very reasonable. There were no hidden charges and all was above board. Well done to all.
