“Good service but exchange rates aren't as good as they...”

Holiday house booking company recommended using CD for paying Euros to them. The CD site is quite straightforward and I like that they always send you a text PIN at log in. There was a glitch in the transfer system so I had to speak to a couple of people at CD and they were polite, efficient and friendly.

The only issue I have with CD is that the initial exchange rate they offer as a guide price is nowhere near as good as they rate they offer when you go to make the actual purchase - initial quote was £1047 but this became £1104. This is nothing to do with live exchange rates (I checked in a separate window). Phoned my bank (FirstDirect) and their rate including £4 fee was £1114. I'll use a middleman if it's going to save me £50 but it's not worth it for £10.
