“Bad customer service”

I have had the worst customer service experience with dealing with JD Sports in the Crescent shopping centre Limerick, here is my story: On Tuesday week ago myself and my son went to purchase a pair of nike runners, they did not have his size and told us they would order for us and the runners would be in on Friday and guaranteed us no later than Saturday , the assistant that served us was named Ger and it was on his guarantee and sales ability and assuances that we went ahead with the purchase. I went to collect the runners on Saturday and was told they did not arrive and had not been dispatched. As you ay undersatand I was quite upset with this and asked to speak with customer services. I spoke to them and they were no help whatsoever, I was basically told that it was not their fault, I could not get a refund until the runners arrived in the shop and there was nothing they would do for me. I asked for the runners to be couriered to my house and they refused. As I have worked with the public for a lot of my life I could not believe the total refusal to help. I was then informed by the manager that they should be in on Tuesday, i went back to the shop on Tuesday and still no runners. My son agreed to wait until today Thursday for the runners as I was told again they should be there and then when I went to the shop this morning still no runners. Now you can imagine how frustrating this has been as a customer. I was not treated with respect this morning when I was offered a refund (which I took), the original sales assistant Ger was laughing and singing to himself whilst dealing with me. He did apologise but it was not sincere. I cannot believe such a big chain would have such little respect for their customers, from sales assistants to customer service operators.I would like if this stores policies were reviewed and rewritten. I will never shop in JD Sports again and I would urge all others to do the same. After I recieved my refund I walked in next door to Schuh and walked out 5 minutes later with runners and would like to congratulate the staff on their pleasant sales technique.
