Good Points
Good friendly service whenever I telephoned and they do know what they are talking about.. They also do pay out very promptly but you have to make a claim every 6 months and must not be late !!
Bad Points
The increase in premium.
General Comments
We have our golden retriever insured by them for just under 7 years. We have good service but the premium just keeps increasing. It was fair value at the time and since it's "the" kennel club, I did not look much further (my fault!). And then they suddenly introduce the extra 10% of the claim amount on top of the excess you have to pay. Still, not much we can do since our Golddie has a pre-existing skin allergy (even though now we have managed very well (touch wood) with just piritons, malaseb shampoo (every month), omega supplement and occasionally some steroid gel. However, since he is now 7+ just !! they have decided our renewal premium should increased from £250 to a whopping £550 !! due to his age, postcode-we have not moved and breed-I think he is still a golden retriever! Letter to the customer service manager, she advised us to maybe change the policy to Kennel Club Crufts which is cheaper. For them it is for we cannot take existing condition over and also it will only payout for 12 months. We are now stuck with paying £550 or well, working out from the vet bill how much we spent on the skin allergy + swapping to petplan or others is better for us.
