“My husband and I have just come back (8 March 08) from...”

Good Points
Small friendly hotel with excellent facilities, extremely friendly & accommodating staff. Rooms with fantastic views of the sea and Ile Aux Cerfs in the distance (free boat trips to Ile Aux Cerfs daily). Rooms cleaned daily with new linen provided daily! All inclusive option extremely good value for money and my husband was equally pleased to find that the bar were offering Guinness Export on the all inclusive package, suffice to say that he drank them dry within 3 days!! But they restocked with 5 cases the very next day!! Boat house crew were all great and offer snorkelling trips daily (all included) to different reefs within the lagoon - a must if you love fish like we do!!

Bad Points
The only thing I would say that could be improved upon would be the showers in the rooms - they are OK but could be a little better both in terms of water pressure and updating, but still amply adequate.

General Comments
My husband and I have just come back (8 March 08) from 2 weeks (honeymoon) at this lovely hotel and it came highly recommended through our travel agents (2Js Travel- thank you) and a couple who came on their honeymoon in June 2007 who gave us a few tips beforehand. After a12hr flight and a 50min transfer to the hotel, we were greeted by the Head Receptionist with a Mauritian smile, cool face towel and a tropical cocktail - very nice personal touch! We were then advised of the hotel's facilities and shown to our room where we were greeted with a bottle of bubbly and a plate of fresh fruit. After leaving the UK with five degrees Celsius and arriving in 30 degrees Celsius it was an extremely 'warm' welcome! The views from your hotel rooms are to die for...tropical palm trees overlooking a beautiful blue lagoon. Rooms were very comfortable and cleaned daily with fresh bed linen, towels and beach towels daily - you don't always get this in a 4/5 star resort! I think the star rating for this hotel is below par - it should be rated at least a 4 if only for the service from the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel!

My husband and I would not hesitate to go back to Le Tropical Hotel and in fact plan to go back for an anniversary holiday quite soon!
