I actually haven't taken out this policy, but I've been looking around at lots of different types of wedding insurance. WeddingPlan are very cheap, offer a range of cover levels, and they seem to have quite good reviews. BUT, note that at the very last stage of the application process you are asked this question: "can you confirm that no-one whose health could affect your wedding plans could be described as:- suffering from stress, anxiety or depression, acting against medical advice, being on a waiting list for in-patient treatment, awaiting treatment or awaiting the results of medical tests or investigations, having a terminal prognosis". Can you really be sure that you have the full medical details of your family? What if one of your parents has a medical problem which they have decided, for whatever reason, to keep from you? And, "stress, anxiety or depression" is a very broad brush. It worries me that WeddingPlan are building in a very neat get-out clause that will allow them not to pay on virtually any medical-related claim. I think I will pay a little extra and use a different company. Buyer beware.
