“Go elsewhere”

I specifically chose (and paid extra for) desks available on the next day service. The 3 desks duly arrived as promised. However when I tried to put them together, 2 of them had no screws. Either this was bad packaging, but just as likely they had been taken out in the warehouse to give to someone else.
I rang up and was told they would be dispatched as soon as possible and they would try to get them to me the next day (saturday) but most likely Monday. Not great, but the best that can be done so fair enough.
On the Monday, chased the screws to be told they were coming Tuesday. No Screws Tuesday either.
The staff are friendly enough but absolutely no interest in actually helping you out:
1. If they say they will "check where is is" they mean I have sent an email and will look for a response when you next ring.
2, If they say "we'll get back to you", they mean I will bang off another email and wait for a response.
3. If they say "sorry, we are working on it", yes its another email. To the warehouse, who have to mail your query to dispatch, who have to mail it to the courier, who have to contact the driver.

And genuinely, they refuse to make any attempt to get off their backsides and make any phone call to speed up your query.

And thanks to them I have had 1 staff member with no desk for 2 days, and another one starting tomorrow who will have no desk either.

These people have no idea of how to deal with problems, they are trained to be pleasant but there is no support whatsoever when problems happen. They have no adequate means of communication with their couriers and often cant tell which courier company they are actually using. If you want your furniture to arrive reliably, use someone else.
