Good Points
Food was good - no complaints whatsoever about the chef! The stars I have awarded are purely for the food.
Bad Points
Attitude of customer-facing staff was appalling and service was non-existant: we were not made to feel at all welcome, despite being courteous and trying to just ignore the dire quality of service we received.
General Comments
I tried Latin in the Lanes with a couple of friends this weekend, and found that the reports of famous people having eaten there have obviously gone to their heads.
As we weren't famous/rich (I guess - who knows what you have to do to get a smile in this restaurant?) we were ignored by the surly staff, leant over when we were eating, spoken to arrogantly and ignored except for when they wanted the bill paid and their service charge.
Great shame as the food was very good, but for a city with plenty of culinary choice, their attitude stinks, and it was no suprise in retrospect that the restaurant was virtually empty. We will not be repeating our mistake, and I advise you to avoid this restaurant - go along the seafront to Dadu (fantastic food and very welcoming) or round the corner to Momma Cherri's (like your favourite aunty's and great fried chicken..) for an enjoyable experience - a meal out is not just about the food you eat but the way you are made to feel... I have contacted the manager to suggest that they send all their staff to Dadu to learn about customer experience... Let's hope that they hire some new staff and it might earn its reputation.
