General Comments
I first came across Huggies nappies after my niece developed a reaction to Pampers and she moved on to Huggies ones. When I had Eilidh I tried out Huggies, Safeways, Boots, Tescos and Pampers and the only one not to have a reaction and not leak for us was Huggies, so naturally when I had Murray I reached for my faithful huggies!



In the time since I had had Eilidh, Huggies had changed their range and introduced different types!



There are 3 ranges: Newborn, Activebaby (3months+) and toddler(10months+).



Newborn has 2 sizes:



Newborn 1 is for babies 4lb -11lb

Newborn 2 is for babies 7lb - 13lb



These come in a pack of 28 nappies and these cost £3.58. But quite often there can be 2 packs for £6 or so which is a bargain if you are preparing for an arrival. These are Tesco prices, but prices vary from place to place! As they don't last for long in these nappies, I tend to buy them as I need them at this age rather than stock up on too many.



Activebaby and toddler has 2 ranges of nappies with 5 sizes over all.



Superflex is a new range which appears to have taken over the old Freedom range. It is a completly redesigned nappy which has been designed with a flexible waistband and new curved legs and is supposed to fit better!



They come in sizes:



Small/Medium size 3 5-9kg (11-20lb)

Pack of 38 costs about £5.51 or a pack of 70 cost £8.96.



Medium size 4 8-14kg (18-31lb)

Pack of 34 costs £5.51 or a Pack of 62 costs £8.96



Medium/Large size 4+ 10-16kg (22-35lb)

Pack of 58 costs £8.96



Large size 5 12-22kg (27-50lb)

Pack of 52 costs £8.96





Huggies Adventurers are the others in this range!

These come with Winnie the Pooh on the nappies the characters on the front and on the back the back of the characters. These tend to be quite popular with younger children who love Pooh!



Medium Plus 9-15kg (20-33lb)

Large Plus 12kg plus (27lb plus).



These cost roughly the same as the nappies above.



I find it cheaper to go to Costco or Makro and buy them in big boxes for 3 large packs for £22. It means that I have nappies for a while and that they don't take up a huge part of my shopping budget and become to big for me to carry!



MY OPINION



Having used a wide variety of different nappies from different makers I find that the Huggies ones are nice and slim to fit in a changing bag. They also come in a wide variety of sizes which means that no matter what size your baby is they will find a nappy to fit. The only downfall is not having a premature range of nappies for babies smaller than 4lbs as I found the Huggies nappies far too big for Eilidh as she was a preemie and the nappies looked awkard and bulky on her.



I have occasionally suffered leaks with Huggies but usually when I have rushed a nappy change or someone who isn't as experienced as me put the nappy on. Otherwise I find that the Huggies nappies on all ranges great for holding wee and pooh. The Newborn range has been specially designed to cope with newborn pooh and I found that I never had a leakage off newborn pooh when I used Huggies unlike some other brands which I used. They are great for long nights and when Murray does sleep thru for a long time or has a lot of milk, the nappy holds the output with out any problems.



The nappies are easy and simple to use with velcro like tabs. This means that if you happen to position one side wrongly, it is simple enough to change without wasting a nappy.



Huggies have also been great to both my babies' botties. Both are quite sensitive and when they wore other name brands they constantly had red looking bottoms. With huggies, they seem to have breathable room and hardly ever have I had to deal with nappy rash. Eilidh had nappy rash once and so has Murray both when they were teething.



Huggies nappies are expensive and I know people always find a range which suits them better, I definitely would not hesitate to buy them for my children. In my opinion, you pay for quality and that is exactly what you get with Huggies
