I booked a trip in January with Holiday Genie. I had a problem with one of the flights so I called through to the number on the website. I spoke to a man who was very unhelpful and quite rude - I got the impression I was the last person he wanted to speak to, He told me that he could not help me with my issue and it was not their problem.
I tried to contact them via email instead, hoping to get through to someone else that might have been more helpful. All my emails were ignored.
I then tweeted a comment to them saying the service was unsatisfactory. They asked me for my booking details so they could look into it further and get someone to contact me. Again - I had no contact from them.
I have contacted the airline I am flying with directly to ensure that we are actually booked on the flights.
It was very upsetting for me to have to deal with all this as I was booking the trip as a surprise for my partners birthday and it has put a dark cloud on the trip, not knowing whether we are even going to be booked on the flight when we get to the airport.
I only hope the airline can help me directly with this.
I would strongly recommend booking with a more reputable travel organisation.
