“Non existent emergency assistance”

We noticed a problem with our downstairs toilet on Tuesday pm. Husband had a look at it thought he knew what problem was and was planning to get the part at weekend when he was not working. Later that night we noticed or heating had gone off and hot water running cold so reset the boiler. The water In downstairs toilet was constantly running so thought this was what was causing boiler to cut out, but as I said my husband was planning on fixing it himself. On Wednesday evening my son flushed upstairs toilet and the handle gave way so we now had two disfuncrional toilets and heating that had to be constantly reset. I wasn't aware I had home emergency assistance until someone said check your policy. So I phoned them this morning and first of all it wasn't classed as an emergency as we had one toilet that could be used and then because we didn't report the boiler right away it's not an emergency.. I had looked at the policy phone numbers and claims one said hours 9-5 so thought no point in phoning now. I explained that my husband and I both have mobility problems and had to come downstairs during the night to use the toilet. We avoid the stairs until bedtime because of our problems but it made no difference. So anyone thinking of taking out insurance with this company think again. I won't be renewing my policy
