“Five weeks ago I phoned Maplin on their premium rate...”

Five weeks ago I phoned Maplin on their premium rate support phoneline to enquire about an apparent problem with a 2-way Bandridge Speaker switch, N44CK, bought online from them.

The Maplin website claims that '... the unit provides full amplifier circuitry protection maintaining the load at the amplifier at 4 Ohms ...' However, the product instruction leaflet states '... do not connect speakers with a nominal impedance less than 8ohm'. The Maplin FAQs says clearly that I can use the device with 4ohm speakers. I could blow my amplifier if Maplin are wrong.

Maplin Technical Support promised a call back after an enquiry with Bandridge. After 2 days without response, I emailed Maplin. They promised to chase Bandridge - but no news. After 2 weeks I chased Maplin again. They again chased Bandridge - but still no news. After 4 weeks I chased Maplin again, and threatened to place critical reviews about them. They promised to chase Bandridge. Yet again no news.

I've bought the product. I've paid for the premium rate phone helpline. I've emailed three times. How can elicit a satisfactory response?
