Store cards are only going to get you into debt if you let them. If you choose a £500 limit & splash out on a good few hundred pounds worth of purchases which you can't pay back, you're bound to get into trouble.
YES, the interest rate is high BUT most are. Plus, if you're sensible and get a £50 - £100 limit (or whatever you can afford) AND pay back in the stated time which should always be taken into account....the interest is only going to be a few pounds!
In conclusion; If you're silly and don't know how to handle it, don't blame the store cards & interest for your money troubles...blame yourself. In my experience, the terms & conditions are stated quite clearly.
