Heraklion, Rinella Beach is rated as a 3 star hotel in...”

Good Points
Nice layout, friendly staff. Hotel is on beach with their own bar on the edge of the large flat sandy beach. Very close to local shops for a nice evening stroll.

Bad Points
Single large swimming pool which is subjected to loud music and activities from the animation team all day long. Good if you want that sort of thing, but you have to resort to the beach if you want a moments peace.

General Comments
Heraklion, Rinella Beach is rated as a 3 star hotel in most brochures. It's a very attractive hotel in design and layout. Staff were helpful and friendly. The standard of food and service was generally very good.

The hotel is actually in the village of Kokini Hani just a few miles outside Heraklion. The village has one main road which runs parallel to the coast, and along which the shops and tavernas are to be found. The area is reasonably flat so we found ourselves taking regular evening strolls through the village.

Our only criticism is the sheer noise and crowding of the main pool, which made it rather unsuitable for younger children to be near, except late afternoon when things died down a bit. However, the beach here is very nice and directly adjacent to the hotel. The hotel have their own bar on the edge of the beach meaning that all-inclusive guests can still get their free drinks whilst relaxing on the beach.

Although we visited in 2001, friends of ours have been since and the quality appears to be the same.
