“Charged for a Domain I Do Not Own”

Once again 1&1 Internet Ltd in the UK have charged me to renew a domain name I do not own or control. Absolute shambles.

The standard response email just tells me how to cancel any domains I own. How can I cancel a domain I do not own, yet 1&1 have still managed to charge me to renew for 24 months.

Avoid at all costs ever hosting a website / blog with 1&1 in the UK.

I have emailed them screenshots of various pages from my account. CLEARLY showing that I do not own or control the domain name they have just charged me to renew for 24 months.

Even a Nominet UK WHOIS lookup reveals that the domain name is unregistered and I certainly do not currently own it.

The domain that 1and1 have charged me to renew today, expired many many months ago. Proving just how inept they are at domain hosting and account billing.
