“Terrible telephone back-up service”

Collecting Nectar points is great and generally for purchases this card is fine unless you approach your limit and try to pay some of the balance off then they are hopeless!

If you need to call with a problem you will be met by an automated system which takes ages and leads you round and round in circles. Eventually there is the offer of talking to an advisor but you may have to wait TWENTY+ minutes!!! after this announcement you are left with no further options but to wait or hang up and start the laborious process once again - shockingly bad.

If you decide to pay your balance by debit card, which with most banks these days gives you IMMEDIATE credit, Sainsbury take THREE DAYS to clear the payment and to make the credit available. THIS IS APPALLING!! Electronic payments are instant and there is NO reason for it to take so long.
