I have banked with Barclays as a personal customer for many years.
Started a business account with them, had funds transferred into the account, and suddenly the account has been frozen for over a week. Nil information what is going on.
Cannot run my business. Was given the number for the person investigating - his voicemail as every other voicemail message from Barclays staff states that "he will endevour to get back to me within 3 working hours". 1 week and at least 30 calls later, no call returned. Network fraud have said that its nothing to do with them. Complaints department - unable to tell me anything, apart from that it may take another week, or possibly longer.
Barclays Bank is just one big hub of call-centres, which do not communicate with each other. Just one call took 2 1/2 hours - with zero outcome, as I was told the funds would be released & then told they would not, a few days later, and they did not know why that had been said.
POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK! ie Libor scandal. But I guess money talks, they can just walk away even when clearly guilty, by just paying fines.
Should have seriously considered the ethos of the company, before banking with them.
My solicitor is now taking this further.
