Good Points
Lightweight, easy to use on stairs, good range of easy to use and store tools, all sort of bits available on net when driver error causes crash as speed into furniture and hard objects, at £200 this is good value with good suction and long life.
Bad Points
We have had one for 7 years and bashed and dropped it so many times that eventually decided to replace it. The current crop don't seem to have the same build quality to the original (made in UK) and within the space of 4 months we are on our third as the clutch seems to give out when hovering carpet making it sound somewhere between a lawn mower and coffee grinder. Just bought another yesterday having had the previous 2 refunded - if this one gives out I will try another make. I am really really hoping that the previous two were a bad batch - fingers crossed.
General Comments
UK manufactured Dysons were clearly of a high build quality standard - our first DC03 lasted 7 years - we are on our third replacement in nearly as many months - I am not convinced that overseas build quality standards are so high. Dysons excellent reputation has been damaged by their accountants trying to produce a cheap product rather than a good product. Strategically the move overseas will generate short term higher profits but longer term brand damage through quality erosion.
