“Bewleys Hotel Manchester Airport”

written by carltonmelrose34 on 03/10/2014

As part of a holiday to Scotland my wife and I needed to book overnight stays at this hotel on 26 September and 1st October. On arrival we were told that the booking for that night had been cancelled but no explanation was offered. I produced the e-mail confirmation sent to me on booking and we were then allowed to take our room.

We returned on 1st October and although the room was available we were asked to pay £68 (a sum which, incidentally, is in marked contrast to the £90 you charged us). The receptionist insisted that nothing had been paid but gave way on production of my e-mail confirmation.

On checking out the following morning we were again (unbelievably!) asked to pay £68 and had to perform the previous night's pantomime all over again!

My first thought was that the source of this incompetence was the hotel but having read other reviews I am more inclined to think it is lastminute.com'. To be on the safe side I do not intend to use either organisation again.

One last thing before I leave. Generally speaking people of my generation do not take kindly to every Tom, Richard (sorry, but my first choice was censored)and Harry addressing them by their first name. In the unlikely event that you reply to this message will you please find an alternative to "Hi Brian"
