Very hard on batteries

General Comments
I've had the Finepix 1300 digital camera for several months now, and I've only found a couple of bad points, so I'll get them out of the way first.

Unfortunately, you can only fit about 10 of the highest quality pictures on the provided 8MB Smartmedia card, I've now bought an extra 64MB one, which stores around 100. I'd recommend buying an extra memory card, because even though I've a laptop, I don't always want to be taking it everywhere I take the camera, and desktop users don't have the option at all. Having said that, the quality of pictures taken, even at the higher compression rates (which do fit a lot of pictures on the 8MB card) is very good, and for the price, you can't expect too much memory to come with it.

The camera does go through batteries very quickly, especially if you use the LCD (which you have to do to change the settings). I now use rechargeables, which work fine with the camera.

On the plus side, the camera is very easy to use, once you've picked your image quality it's pretty much point and shoot. The only 'advanced' feature I've used is the self timer, which was simple. Only complaint would be that you have to go through the whole process of turning on the self-timer for each photo, it doesn't stay in that mode after you take a photo using it.

The pictures download instantly to your computer thanks to the USB connection, and there are a variety of easy ways to decide which to keep on your hard disk.

On the whole, a great camera for the price.
