“Too good to be true”

written by Niat156 on 14/09/2014

One star is definitely too much for this site. I was looking for a way to get away from the ever escalating fees of Ebay.. "completely free" blujay says .. "less greedy" blujay says … so i scour over their TOS and start setting up my store. i list many of the items that i have on ebay, that are accepted by ebay per their TOS. I put in 5 products, total of almost 30 items total in quantity and i discover the shopping cart doesn't work. So i post in their help forum where i was informed that i had to have 20 items in my new store before an admin would approve it to go live. Wait, there's no mention of a waiting period in the TOS or an admin approval for that matter. I was then instructed to look in the Announcements post in their forums that i would find my answers there. Nope, nothing there and the mod's weren't giving me a direct link.. so i'm just ok, fine .. i'll post more stuff later, i had already spent over an hour just navigating around, getting a store banner set up, pictures for my products, descriptions, shipping info.. etc. obviously they just make stuff up as they go along or as they see fit or allow their mods to give people the run around and giggle as they sip tea and read the frustrated posts of a new user.

I come back later and all my items have been removed. Apparently my items didn't jive with someone's moral values or they don't know how to interpret their own TOS. There were two other stores on the blujay site that had similar products as mine with working shopping carts (activated stores) that had been in business from 5 months to 18 months… their items didn't disappear. I bring this to the mod's attention. I point out in the TOS that my products are indeed compliant and the length of time the other stores has been operating, to no avail. It's not worth the fight, so i tell them to delete my store, because … there's no place to delete your store in their preferences.. and when you try to change details in your account their botched up coding tells you some stupid blather about your email password being too short.. whether you are trying to change your password, nor not.

In conclusion They DO NOT disclose all the terms on their TOS, leave things out so that an excited new seller can sadly discover later that indeed, you really do get what you pay for. For now, i'll just stay with the Dark Side and i wish them all the best, but i wouldn't recommend using their site.. FREE means struggling with unclear Terms of Service, clueless moderators and some control freak admin that picks and chooses who can compete with other sellers of the same product genre. That's the taste it's left in my mouth. AND btw .. when Ebluejay.com gets released, remember .. they are the same site with the same people running it.. don't be fooled by something shiny and new.. it's going to be the same old BS when it's released. Just a heads up.
