“Absolutelty stunning woodwork and amazing price!”

written by Konnor46 on 17/08/2014

Found this place through Booking.com. We stayed for 5 days and had a blast.

First off, it is close to ALL the best attractions in Belize. Our room was amazing, had a super comfortable Queen bed. Jaw dropping woodwork, a huge walkout patio overlooking the river and Mayan ruins of Xunantunich.
We got up in the morning and had the opportunity to handfeed parrots from the roof. Then my wife and I leisurely floated down the river on tubes. It was included with our room stay! We floated to the Mayan Temple ruins and spent about 4 hours there.Truly amazing.

Day 2 We explored the fabulous cave of Actun Chapat. This cave is about 10 minutes from the hotel. The owner picked us up from our room, packed us lunch and took us through pristine jungle to arrive at this mammoth cave. It was huge inside with some ceilings looking like football fields. Got to swim in the emerald green waters of the cenote inside, and see Mayan pottery.
Really enjoyed our cave trip. Upon coming back an in room massage was ready for my wife and I. We floated into bliss as our attendant rubbed and massaged our feet and muscles.

Day 3 The hotel manager took us to a Mayan shaman/healer! It was a truly amazing day, as the shaman took the time to explain the different herbs and plants and what effects they have on our bodies. We went for a healing session and immediately felt bathed in energy. Wow!

Day 4 Our hotel took us to a gorgeous waterfall, crystal blue and emerald green, for a swim. We were the only ones there, and our gracious host had prepared a barbeque and picnic for us. We spent the day laughing, swimming and letting the rushing waters pour over our heads.

Day 5 Jungle horseback riding. We spent a good 5 hours on horseback going through deep jungle. Saw waterfalls, Toucans, amazing trees like in storybooks. It really was a magical excursion. A mountaintop picnic and wine was just perfect.

Negatives: Wish we would have booked our stay much longer and not spent the night in boring Belmopan, before we arrived here.

This place was all our dreams wrapped up in 5 days!!!!!!

Loved it and cant wait to go back.

Benque Resort is the best!
