I (hopefully) booked a holiday with HDC this morning.......still awaiting my confirmation email.
I'm not the type to go to the trouble of writing a review but in this occasion I had to.
Price advertised was £450 when I called it had went up to over £700 and this was not including transfer/baggage etc
I was offered an alternate day at the price advertised of £491 + £50 baggage + £20 transfer. I agreed to this and asked if this was the final price, were there any admin fees etc to pay. I was told there was only a £2 charge for debit card.
Happy to proceed I was transferred to the reservations team who then at point of confirmation informed me ther was £15 Abta charge and £19 admin fee each to pay on top - I clearly asked this before agreeing to the price and then this. I was told it was mandatory and could not be wavered. Reluctantly I agreed.
10 minutes later I get a call to say The flight had gone up £90 and I was being requested to pay an additional £30 towards this cost. I refused saying I was being bribed and held to ransome as when I refused to pay it there was a panicked response of oh no the price has now gone up £180!!!!! Not my problem was my response. I was panicky 'offerred' to keep the holiday for £20 extra. I felt backed into a corner and agreed to the £20 rather than go through all the stress and hassle of arguing about refund scenario as I'm sure they would have made that impossible.
I am still waiting on my confirmation email 3hrs after booking and am on tenterhooks awaiting any further calls to inform me the price has changed again.
My advice- it's not worth the stress and hassle. Book elsewhere.
