“In Anglophile heaven”

Written on: 19/06/2014 by backwardnomad (1 review written)

Since watching Olympic curling, I've been fascinated with the international variety of shuffleboard-type games, especially the tabletop versions, including sjoelen from the Netherlands and shove ha'penny from the UK. So I ordered a new shove ha'penny board and coins from Masters, handmade by an English craftsman from English oak. The board crossed the Atlantic and arrived in due course at my doorstep. It does not disappoint. The wood is beautiful, displaying some stunning quarter-sawn grain, artfully joined. The coins supplied span the years 1902 to 1933 and the reigns of Edward VII and George V. I'm in Anglophile heaven. Thank you, Masters, for this heirloom treasure that will be enjoyed in our family for years to come!
